Janie and Michael
Ballroom, Latin, Swing, Argentine Tango Instructors
American and International Styles

Janie and Michael have been dance partners since 2009. and have experienced a series of competition successes in International Standard and Argentine Tango. They were selected by audition to appear as dancers in the film “The Silver Linings Playbook”.

Prior to their partnership, each trained extensively with master coaches. Janie, who had already studied ballet for many years, competed during the 10 years preceding the partnership in both latin and standard. Michael, meanwhile, was teaching ballroom and Argentine tango in Pennsylvania. Michael is also a serious student of Flamenco, and can be seen performing on occasion at venues within New Jersey. Both Michael and Janie are amateur musicians, and Michael is a fine artist. Their understanding of music and visual arts contributes to their artistry as dancers.
Michael and Janie teach most modern partner dances, including the latin and smooth dances (American and International styles). Their goal is to express, and to help others experience, the many moods, emotions, and sensations of music. They hope to show by example that dance can be for everyone, at every stage of life.
