Janie Zitomer and Michael Graham
Ballroom, Latin, Swing, Argentine Tango Instructors
American and International Styles

Janie and Michael have been dance partners since 2009. and have experienced a series of competition successes in International Standard and Argentine Tango. They were selected by audition to appear as dancers in the film “The Silver Linings Playbook”.

Prior to their partnership, each trained extensively with master coaches. Janie, who had already studied ballet for many years, competed during the 10 years preceding the partnership in both latin and standard. Michael, meanwhile, was teaching ballroom and Argentine tango in Pennsylvania. Michael is also a serious student of Flamenco, and can be seen performing on occasion at venues within New Jersey. Both Michael and Janie are amateur musicians, and Michael is a fine artist. Their understanding of music and visual arts contributes to their artistry as dancers.
Michael and Janie teach most modern partner dances, including the latin and smooth dances (American and International styles). Their goal is to express, and to help others experience, the many moods, emotions, and sensations of music. They hope to show by example that dance can be for everyone, at every stage of life.

Sheena Larsen was born and raised in a small town in Utah. As a natural talent, she started salsa in high school and then spent six year competing in latin dancing starting in college. Not long after, she began performing and teaching with the Utah-based professional salsa dance company “Drugagya Forma.” The deeper she ventured, the more she realized how distinct salsa actually was from her ballroom experience. She was attracted to the natural Afro-Latin body movement elements of the dance. Her desire to learn more lead her to NYC several years ago to study under the professional instruction of some of the top pioneers of salsa. She now resides in NJ.
